By default, a new post is shared when it matches a rule, and the writer can switch sharing off for a single post. Opt-in sharing turns this around. New posts start with sharing switched off, and only posts where someone switches it on go out.
Turn it on
Open PressQueue, Settings. Under "New posts", pick one of:
- "Share automatically when a rule matches". Writers can switch sharing off for a single post in the editor.
- "Only share posts where 'Share this post' is switched on". New posts start with sharing switched off. Good for sites where only some posts belong on social media.
Click "Save settings".
What writers see
In the editor, the "Social sharing" panel says "On this site, new posts start with sharing off." To share a post, switch "Share this post" on before publishing. Share now needs the switch on as well.
What changes and what does not
The setting applies to new posts. Posts that already have a sharing choice keep it. Rules, "never share" rules and channels work as before. Posts with sharing off are left out of updates and Share old posts.
