Each post has a "Social sharing" panel in the editor. In the block editor it sits in the sidebar. In the classic editor it is a box on the edit screen. The panel shows where the post will go and lets you change that for this post only.
What the panel shows
Before you publish, the panel says "When you publish, PressQueue would send it to:" followed by the channels, or "Not shared when you publish." with the reason. It is based on the last saved version of the post. In test mode it adds "Test mode is on. Nothing is sent to Buffer yet."
After publishing, the panel shows what PressQueue did with the post and a "See in Activity" link. Updating a post does not share it again unless a rule has "A published post is updated" ticked.
Password-protected posts and private posts are not shared.
Share this post
The "Share this post" switch is on by default. Switch it off and the post stays off social media. Before publishing, the panel says "This post will not be shared. You can switch it on any time before publishing." For a published post it says "Sharing is off for this post. Updates and Share old posts leave it out."
The switch saves with the post. If the sharing settings cannot be saved, the post is not saved either, so an unsaved "off" can never be published by accident.
In Activity, a post you switched off shows "Sharing off".
If your site uses opt-in sharing, new posts start with the switch off.
Customize for this post
Open "Customize for this post" to change what the rule decided, for this post only. A "Changed" badge appears when something here differs from the rule.
- "Message": your own text for this post, up to 2,000 characters. Leave it empty to use the rule's message. The character count shows the limit, including the link.
- "Channels": untick a channel to leave it out for this post. "Use the channels from the rule again" undoes that.
- "Timing": "Use the rule", one of the Buffer timings, or "Pick a date and time" with a date, a time and a time zone. See Timing.
- "Image": "Use the rule", "No image", "Social image with the title", "Featured image", "Featured image, hold the post back without one", or "Choose an image". "Choose an image" opens the media library. See Images.
Then save or update the post.
Share now
A published post that was never shared has a "Share now" button in the panel. See Share now.
The Social sharing column
The post list has a "Social sharing" column. It shows the channels each post went to, or that it was not shared.
